Teens: Extra-Curricular Activities

Find a variety of extra-curricular activities including community centers, sports, volunteering, and leadership opportunities. All activities and services are personally recommended by the Sequoia Healthcare District for District residents, and most resources are free or low-cost. To get started, choose a category below.

Community Centers & After-School Programs 

Hideout

At Barrett Community Center, you will find after school activities and programs, and The Hideout (a new teen zone) that hosts fun events, field trips, movie nights, and activities like hiking.

Red Morton Community Center

Red Morton Community Center provides a preschool, teen center, fitness center, gym, fitness classes including jazzercise, and youth/adult sports leagues. 

Peninsula Camera Club

Join a group of photographers of all ages and ability levels to improve your skills and share your talents!

National Center for Equine Facilitated Therapy (NCEFT)

Therapeutic horseback riding for youth and adults with special needs and different abilities.

Redwood City Police Activities League (PAL)

Activities and services for children, families, and adults including after school programs, camps, sports, fitness classes, career development, and more.

The Riekes Center

Athletic and fitness programs, creative arts, nature immersions and outdoor activities, and volunteering opportunities for kids, teens, adults, seniors, military veterans, and people of all abilities.

Outlet Program, Adolescent Counseling Services

Support and social groups for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning (LGBTQQ+) youth.

CA Youth Symphony

Musical instruction and performance opportunities on all symphonic instruments for young musicians of beginning through advanced levels.
