Friends for Youth (FFY) creates positive, meaningful relationships between caring adult mentors and our community’s most vulnerable youth. By spending quality time with their mentors, youth do better in school, feel more cared about, and are motivated to reach their full potential.
FFY offers two volunteer opportunities: 1:1 mentoring in the community and group mentoring in local schools. 1:1 mentors meet weekly with one youth between the ages of 8-17 for a year. They take their mentee on fun outings and attend events with other mentorships. Group mentors meet weekly with a small cohort of middle school or high school students for one school year. They provide a safe space for youth to express themselves and build positive life skills.
The first step to becoming a mentor is attending an information session at the FFY office. To learn more and inquire about upcoming dates, please email email@example.com.
