St. Vincent dePaul of San Mateo County’s Safety Net program, run out of the Peninsula Family Resource Center (PFRC), is a homelessness prevention program. The primary focus of the program is to prevent negative consequences of homelessness, such as physical and mental health issues, missed work days, and missed school days for children
PFRC’s volunteers visit the homes of the working poor, seniors and the unemployed to lend support during a times of crises. The assistance provided may be funds to pay for rent or utilities, hunger, diapers, funds for a prescription bill, or transportation assistance to work.
